Ride in the Country

With a "nod" to "History Weekend," we continued collecting pictures of Hop Houses. In England, kilns for drying hops are built of stone and called Oast Houses.

On Route 8 North a few miles North of Bridgewater.

West of Knoxboro, this relic has been in the same condition for the last
thirty-five years: no one's repaired it, but it refuses to give up!

Northeast of Munnsville.

And two other "treasures" - a swamp filled with red-berried Black Alder (American Holly) and then, at the corner of Skyline Drive and College Hill Road in Clinton, a very tall tree completely draped with Bittersweet Vine. The berries weren't open, but after a few chilly nights, they'll be bright orange!

Don't forget to put the Garbage out in the Morning!
